Did you lose your hearing for New York State unemployment insurance benefits? If you disagree with a hearing decision from the Administrative Law Judge, you may appeal it to the Unemployment Insurance Appeal Board. The appeals process is difficult, and you may want legal assistance. However, if you want to appeal on your own, it is important to follow the steps below. Please read the entire article before starting the appeal process.

Section 227(a) of New York State Real Property Law spells out the rights of people aged 62 and over, and disabled tenants, to terminate a
residential lease or rental agreement before the lease time period ends.
Terminating a lease according to Section 227(a) is a legal termination, not a lease violation.

This act ensures that unhoused students (PreK-12) have equal access to a free appropriate public education as other students. Unhoused students may not be separated from the mainstream school environment.
Every district must have a designated local liaison for homeless children and youth.
Step 1: Referral for Evaluation
The initial referral for special education services can be made by a parent, doctor, school official, public agency worker or judicial officer. A student over eighteen years of age or emancipated can refer him/herself. A referral in writing should be made to the Committee on Special Education (CSE).
