2008 Stimulus Payment Tax Rebate

A 2008 Stimulus Payment will be sent to many people by the US government between the months of May and July of 2008. You may get this money if you had income of at least $3,000 in 2007, you have a valid Social Security Number, and you file your 2007 tax return by April 15, 2008. The payments will vary between $300 to over $1200 and will be calculated based on the number of people in your household and the income you reported on your 2007 tax return.

Ontario County Education Law Advocacy Project

Through the Education Law Advocacy Project, Legal Assistance of the Finger Lakes will represent Ontario County school aged children. The focus of the project will be to help school aged children with disabilities and/or other special needs. The project's goals are to assist the community in understanding the educational rights of children and to ensure that parents make informed choices about their children's educational options. Services that can be provided include the following:

  • Education regarding the legal rights of children with special needs and how to best advocate for those rights.
  • Direct representation at Committee for Special Education meetings.

  • Legal representation at impartial hearings and through the appeals process.
