Can LAWNY Help Me? PDF Print E-mail
Written by Jeff Hogue

The best way to find out if LawNY can help you is to call the nearest LawNY office. When you call, you will be asked about the kind of problem you are having, where you live, and your situation. This will help us figure out whether we can help you.

Unfortunately, we cannot represent everyone who asks for our help. Even if we don't have funding or advocates available to help with your specific problem, we usually can give you general information about your problem. Or, we can usually give you the name of another agency which might be able to help you. LawNY offices are not allowed to give criminal law advice.

If we do think we can help, we may ask you to come in to the office for an appointment so we can get more information. Sometimes we can get all the information we need from you over the phone. If we are able to take you on as a client, we will confirm that decision in writing.

Where are our offices?

About LawNY

LawNY is a non-profit law firm that provides free legal aid to people who live in 14 counties in western New York.

LawNY offices may be able to help you with problems such as welfare terminations, divorces, evictions, SSI denials, or other problems if you live in one of these counties we cover.

Because our funding is limited, we can't help everyone who wants a lawyer. For more information, click here.
